Touchdowns and Tributes: Veterans Day Celebration on the Field

We wanted to wrap up November and all the celebrations being done for National Veterans and Military Families month by sharing a little bit about one of our favorite local non-profits!

Veterans Day is a holiday most of us celebrate once a year, however Support U.S. Armed Forces celebrates veterans every day of the year! Support U.S. Armed Forces (SUSAF) is a non-profit who “does a lot with a little,” according to Crystal Carlson, Administrator. The organization provides year-round resources to U.S. Military, their families, and veterans through publicly funded programs and services. They believe in more than just recognizing the bravery of our veterans, but also in providing them with the resources, care, and community that they deserve.

LS Tractor has been partnering with Support U.S. Armed Forces since 2022. Through our partnership with NC State, LS Tractor funds the Touchdown for Heroes program that donates to SUSAF for every touchdown NC State scores. This is a fun program that has everyone cheering for NC State! The more touchdowns they score, the more LS Tractor can support this wonderful non-profit. SUSAF has local events going on all year long, however, one of their biggest events is the Military Appreciation Game at NC State. LS Tractor is proud to partner with SUSAF to make this game memorable and honorable for our veterans.

The Saturday before Veterans Day, NC State hosted the annual Military Appreciation Game. NC State fought a tough game and ended up on top against Miami.  SUSAF has been on the Military Appreciation planning committee since 2010.  Crystal works vigorously with the Director of Marketing and Fan Experience at NC State. They also team up with Gameday Operations, Wolfpack Sports Properties, NCSU ROTC, Students Veterans, Wolfpack Club, and Ticketing.

The entire operation puts on an amazing show each year for our U.S. Veterans. Crystal hosts the Purple Heart Veterans, who are combat-wounded veterans. This year she was able to host 9 Purple Heart Veterans. Crystal told us the committee works to find representation from WW2, Korean War, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq and most recent, Peace Keeping Missions. With representation from different wars, they recognize the “Veterans’ Per Era” group.  They also aim to represent Gold Star Families, which are families who have lost a service member in combat or other causes. This year, they were able to represent a family with 3 generations of military duty.

Before the game begins, Coca-Cola hosts a tailgate at PNC for all the volunteers and honorees. NC State covers all veterans’ tickets and parking and there is also a mini parade by the wolf statue. A couple of hours before the game begins, there is a walk of champions where all the  Military Honorees line up and the team greets them as they head into the locker room for the game. The team will shake the veterans’ hands and hi five them to let them know they are appreciated.

NC State is one of the few universities left that still holds up a full-size American flag on the field during halftime. It takes 170 people to hold up the flag. The band plays patriotic music and bag pipers play as everyone starts marching from visitor side over to the NC state side, then they start unfurling the flag from sideline to sideline. It’s quite an amazing and very moving program.

Veterans are not only delighted by the program, but LS Tractor takes immense pride in collaborating with Support U.S. Armed Forces and contributing to the remarkable initiatives they work on year-round for the military community. 2023 Dealer Conference: Go Beyond

Last year’s Dealer Conference was such a success in San Antonio Texas and having our reception at The Alamo, they told us to go bigger, so we did. What is bigger than the Alamo in Texas? Disney World! This year, we hosted our 2023 annual Dealer Conference in Orlando, Florida at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Not only is the resort right across from the Disney World parks, but it is so enormous it has an entire jungle inside with live alligators!

Our conference officially began on Sunday, November 12th. Dealers were welcomed to the Gaylord Palms where they could register, get their welcome information and a few goodies. After registration, dealers had a little bit of time to explore and possibly get lost in the resort before we packed up the buses and headed to our welcome reception dinner. Despite being an hour away, this year’s welcome reception was a once in a lifetime experience at the Kennedy Space Center. This was the inspiration for our “Go Beyond” space theme this year. Our dealers and staff truly went beyond as they were guided into the immersive experience of re-watching history take place and being face-to-face with the Space Shuttle Atlantis, the space craft that flew 33 missions and orbited Earth nearly five thousand times before retiring, like many of us do in Florida.

This event was nothing to beat around the bush. We had dueling pianists perform, and plenty of delicious appetizers, from Korean BBQ wings to lobster mac and cheese, which were the perfect snack foods for our guests to enjoy as they got to stroll around the museum and learn about space exploration. It was a great way to kick off our conference and we all left feeling very inspired for 2024.

Monday morning, our dealers were up bright and early with a breakfast buffet, while some ate breakfast, others were registering. After registration and breakfast was complete, everyone entered the ballroom to begin General Session. LS Tractor CEO Mike Kim welcomed our dealers along with a virtual greeting from LS Mtron CEO Mr. Shin. After presentations were given from Sales, Dealer Development, Parts, and Product, dealers broke up into rotating breakout sessions, where they heard more from Product, Service, IT and got to visit our sponsors in the Vendor Hall.

dealer conference

After a full day of learning and collaborating, we headed to our first ever Regional Dinner at Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs. Planet Hollywood is a fun Disney-themed restaurant with music and large screens for never-ending entertainment.

We separated our West Coast and our East Coast dealers on different levels to allow each side to split up and get to know one another more. Many also floated from floor to floor and mingled while enjoying the buffet-style dinner and served drinks. After dinner, dealers could walk around Disney Springs and check out the different shops and attractions that were there, like the Coca-Cola store and the Lego store!

Tuesday started with the famous breakfast buffet and dealers swiftly broke out into rotating breakout sessions once again. They floated from Branding to Sales Support, and Digital Marketing 101. After lunch, dealers got to break off into 8 different regional meetings with their Business Managers and had some great in-depth discussions.

dealer conference

Then everyone went outside for Product Day! Product Day was held right outside the Gaylord Palms hotel. Dealers were able to ride, and test drive all our products, including our new models that were announced last year and will be hitting dealerships soon.

We ended Tuesday night with an Awards Banquet that was the official kick-off of our 15 years in the U.S. We honored a few of our dealers for their hard work this year and took the time to recognize our wonderful Dealer Council members. The night was filled with community and engaging discussions amongst our dealers and staff. It was a great way to end a successful conference and year. We are excited to “Go Beyond” in 2024 and are so incredibly grateful for all of our dealers who attended. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

LS Tractor Gives Back to the Community

Recently, our team at LS Tractor participated in a highway cleanup, in participation with the NC DOT. We adopted a 2-mile stretch of Hwy 48 near our U.S. headquarters in Battleboro, NC.

Why a Highway Cleanup?

Highway cleanups are essential for maintaining the beauty of our roadsides and preserving the environment. Litter along highways poses serious threats to local ecosystems and wildlife. These cleanups help restore the natural beauty of our surroundings while enhancing road safety for all.

LS Tractor: A Commitment to Sustainability

LS Tractor has long been an advocate for sustainability and environmental responsibility. Our commitment extends beyond actively participating in initiatives that make a real difference. This sponsorship aligns perfectly with our mission to create a cleaner, greener future.

The Cleanup Process

The highway cleanup sponsored by LS Tractor involved employees volunteering their time and efforts to pick up litter along a designated stretch of highway. Here’s how it worked:

  1. Planning: LS Tractor collaborated with local environmental organizations and government authorities to identify a suitable stretch of highway that needed cleaning. This planning phase is crucial to ensure that the cleanup efforts are focused and effective.
  2. Safety Measures: Safety is a top priority. Volunteers were provided with proper safety gear, including reflective vests, gloves, and litter-picking tools. The safety of all participants, as well as passing motorists, was paramount.
  3. Environmental Impact: During the cleanup, volunteers collected various forms of litter, including plastic bags and bottles. This not only beautifies the area but also prevents these items from further damaging the environment.

Our team at LS Tractor was proud to cleanup the community we call home, and we will be doing this again soon.

Supporting the Future of Agriculture – Kevin’s Tractor

Kevin, owner of Kevin’s Tractor Parts in Benton, Louisiana has been in the agriculture business for over 40 years. If anyone knows the importance of a good tractor, it’s Kevin. Kevin’s two daughters, Kimberly and Michelle also work at the dealership and have both benefited from programs provided by the local Technical High School Programming in Bossier Parish Schools. The family business saw a need in their community that they could help fulfill. Kevin’s Tractor Parts happily partnered with the school and was able to get agriculture students into a brand-new 2023 LS MT225s.

When the original tractor that was supplied by the agriculture program came into the shop for repairs, Kimberly took it in. Using her sales knowledge and experience in the field, she suggested the school make a trade for a newer, comparable LS Tractor that would benefit the students in the program. The school board agreed, and this exchange was put into action. While repairs were made on the original tractor, Michelle used her 20 years of experience in education to see how their business could make a difference in the lifelong learning of the high school students. Thanks to the family business’ strong community values, students will be able to learn from both old and new equipment. This partnership would be just the beginning for these future farmers.

The Agriculture Program at Bossier Parish School for Technology and Innovative Learning is empowering future farmers. The agriculture program introduces students to processes like raising eggs, chickens, bees, honey, goats and hogs, community gardening, and has plans for expansion as the program grows. As the program grows, so does the need for proper farm equipment. The MT225s will allow students to work on a tractor from this decade and gain important knowledge with machines they will see out in the field. For students to be better prepared for graduation, it is important for them to have training with the proper equipment.

Getting through high school is tough enough, but with the help of the Agriculture Program and Kevin’s Tractor, these students will be able to gain important knowledge to prepare them for their future in agriculture. Kevin’s also provided students with a finish mower, tiller, loader, and a Woods rotary cutter. With these tools, students learn maintenance of the equipment, how to care for animals, how to cut pasture, till a garden and so much more!

Kevin’s Tractor gave back to a community that serves all of us. Without agriculture, there wouldn’t be any farmers, and without farmers, a lot of people would be very hungry. The importance of ag goes far beyond farming; students learn how to cultivate a sustainable way of life. Approximately 200 students are now able to learn hands-on with new equipment thanks to the incredible folk at Kevin’s Tractor Parts. Due to their thoughtfulness, these students are truly able to Start Blue. AND Stay Blue. with their new LS Tractor.

Field Facts: Landscaping with a MT1

Welcome to Field Facts! This is LS Tractor’s brand-new blog series centered around discussing your land and the best tractor models and attachments to fit your property. In this first chapter we are going to talk about landscaping with our sub-compact MT1 Series.

If you are new here and wondering, what is a sub-compact tractor? A sub-compact tractor is typically smaller in size and price point compared to a compact or utility tractor. There is so much you can do with this little blue tractor and at a great cost too.

MOWING

Mowing can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. With the MT1 you can easily mow with precision when you add a mid-mount mower. The LM160 is compatible with both MT1 models: the MT122 and the MT125. The mower is easy to install especially on a flat surface. You may be saying, why don’t I just get a mower? Well, you may be depriving yourself of the comfort the MT1 provides for those long rides. Also, if there are other tasks besides mowing you want to do, you may want to invest in a sub-compact tractor.

GARDENING

Gardening is another task that can be accomplished with a sub-compact tractor. Any summer vegetables you are thinking about growing this season? Tomatoes, peppers, or squash? A tiller is a great attachment to add to your LS to get that land ready for planting. You don’t need a big tractor to build a garden your momma would be proud of.

LANDSCAPING

This summer I bet you want to be sitting by your pool sipping a fruity drink while the landscapers clean up your yard…well maybe not but you can dream about it while riding your LS tractor. With your free LS loader, you can move dirt and pick up heavy rocks that are in the way of that garden you are planning on building. Having a smaller tractor is also beneficial to get in those tight spaces especially between trees or heavy logs. Or just pick them up with your loader and move them out of the way!

ANIMAL MANAGEMENT

Finally, you have got to take care of those animals (if you have them). The loader on your MT1 can lift and move feed so they don’t get hungry. With your LS, you can also build a fence to keep those pesky pets from running away. The best part, your tractor can help with cleaning up manure. But hey, that’s free soil for that garden bed, right?

The landscaping tasks are endless with a sub-compact tractor. Bigger doesn’t always mean better when it comes to tractors. You want a machine that is going to work best for your property.

LS Is Built by Families

Have you ever walked into a car dealership just wanting to browse and a salesperson bombards you with all kinds of questions? Do you wish in that moment that you could have a real conversation with someone? That is something you don’t have to worry about when you step inside an LS Dealership. At LS you can expect to feel like part of the family. We got to feel that warm fuzzy feeling last week when we visited Robison Equipment.

Robison Equipment is located in the charming town of Thompson, Ohio which is about 45 minutes outside of Cleveland. Despite this being a small town, the dealership is a very busy location that proudly sells only LS Tractors. They are also a third-generation dealership that has been a part of the LS family since the very beginning. Recently they have had great success using one of our sales programs, so we decided to pay them a visit to learn a little bit more about their success.

When we first walked into the dealership, we noticed a handwritten sign on the window that said “LS Tractors sold here” which Rachel, owner of Robison Equipment, told us was written by her 9-year-old daughter. Rachel then showed us around their newly renovated store; we were very impressed with all the work that has gone into updating the store. Rachel pointed out a framed picture of their family. The photo included Rachel, her husband PJ who owns the store with her, their two daughters, and photoshopped in by a family member, were his great-grandparents who first opened the shop. These small moments show how special family-owned businesses are.

While we were looking at their inventory, almost every vehicle that passed waved to Rachel. The small-town feel was so friendly; you could tell they put their customers first at Robison. We are so lucky to have dealers like Robison Equipment representing us. So, the next time a car salesman makes you question life itself, go on over to your local LS Dealership instead for that family feeling you may be missing.

You sit in the uncomfortably warm seat, look at the screen and pull the comically oversized lever. JACKPOT! You just won $7 a day for life! Now, what should you spend that money on? Tips & Tricks for New Tractor Owners

Are you looking to purchase your first tractor? Well, you are in the right place. We just so happen to sell those fine blue machines you have had your eye on. Before jumping right into purchasing your first tractor, there are a few things to consider. A tractor is an important investment that you will spend hours operating on your property. We want to make sure you are prepared to make the right choice in your farming equipment with our tips & tricks for new tractor owners.

First things first, how much horsepower do you need? To answer this question, you need to think about your property and your projects. Say you have around 5 acres of land and want to make landscaping and mowing a more attainable task, you are looking at the mid 20 horsepower range and would want to consider a sub-compact tractor, specifically our MT1 series.  If you have around 10 acres, a compact tractor that ranges from 30-60 horsepower would better suit your needs. This horsepower can handle heavier tasks such as mowing your larger property, gardening, animal management and digging! Say your property is closer to 20 acres, you would be looking for a tractor in the 50-200 horsepower range. If this is the size of your land and you have heavier duty tasks, you may want to consider one of our utility tractors such as the MT4, MT5 or MT7. We offer a large line of sub-compact, compact, and utility tractors to explore. Remember to pay attention to horsepower and loader lift capacity when choosing the right model for your chores. Explore our lineup here!

Something else to consider when exploring tractor options would be the transmission type. Like horsepower, the type of land you have and projects you want to conquer will play into this decision. There are five types of transmissions on our tractors: Hydrostatic, Mechanical Shuttle, Power Clutch, Power Shuttle and Semi-PowerShift. Projects that don’t require a consistent speed, such as lawn or garden tasks, and loader work are best suited for Hydrostatic. Larger properties with tougher terrain or tasks such as tilling or heavy-duty hauling would be more attainable with a Mechanical Shuttle, Power Clutch, Power Shuttle or Semi-Powershift transmission since these transmissions convert power from the engine to the wheels more efficiently. These five types of transmissions are something else to consider before purchasing your first tractor. Just keep in mind the types of projects you would want to use it for.

Another important aspect to consider before buying your first tractor, is budget. Budget is not a fun subject, but it is necessary. You typically wouldn’t walk into a dealership to purchase a car without checking your bank account. You also don’t go on Zillow and put an offer on a house without knowing how much you can afford. The same goes for tractors. They are big investments that also come with the big reward of being able to self-sufficiently carry out tasks on your own property. So before jumping in, check those accounts and make sure you are ready for this venture.

As you may have heard, all our tractors come with a free own front-end loader! This machine is your best friend for moving and digging dirt, gravel, sand, and really anything you need to move. What other chores do you have on your to-do list? Knowing which tasks, you want to accomplish might help you decide which attachments or implements you might want to add!

A final piece of advice for the future tractor owner would be to utilize your local dealer. Your dealer is your own personal expert for all things tractors and attachments! They will happily advise you on the best machine for your property. We know this because our dealer network is comprised of honest, hard-working individuals with expertise in the field you have now found interest in. What are you waiting for? Get in touch with your local dealer today and get the tractor of your dreams.

Your New Best Friend

Let’s imagine for a moment that you are shipwrecked. In a cruel twist of fate, that three hour tour you signed up for got into some rough weather and thanks to the courage of your friendly crew, you ended up running ashore on this quaint little island. While walking on the beach, you notice an antique lamp and pick it up. There’s a little bit of writing on it, but it’s covered in sand so you brush it off. Suddenly, a stream of smoke appears and before your very eyes is a real genie. You can decide if it’s Barbara Eden or Robin Williams, however here at LS, we recommend Robin: we’re VERY partial to that blue. Of course, your first wish will be to get back home. However, you’ve been gone a while and your lovely property needs some work. You look around and wish for a sub compact tractor to help get your house back in order. Stop right there! Don’t waste that wish! Allow me to introduce you to your new best friend: the MT122.

Our sub-compact MT122 is ANYTHING but basic. Underneath that beautiful blue hood is 21.5 horsepower that is just ready and raring to help you out. The hydrostatic motor makes driving an absolute dream! No need to know how to drive a straight drive: just put the tractor and gear and press either the forward or backwards pedal to go (you guessed it) forwards or backwards. It’s just that simple.

Now that you are moving, you see that you have some trash to pick up. Lucky for you, your genie knew that every new LS Tractor comes with a free front end loader. The loader on your new best friend can pick up over 1,000 pounds, so you can skip the gym and let your tractor do all of the heavy lifting for you. But what about the lawn that needs cutting? Don’t fret, friend! You can add on a mid-mount mower and you can get that yard cut down to size no problem. You can even add on a grass catcher to catch all of those pesky grass clippings so you don’t get a fun letter from your HOA.

You know what goes great with a front end loader? Your very own backhoe! The backhoe for the MT122 can dig holes up to 75” deep, so you can bury all your troubles deep down and forget about them. Don’t forget about your box blade, which will level out your yard in no time. You can even be ready in the winter with our snow attachments, like our snow blower! Just attach the blower to the front of your tractor using our easy attach system and snow will have snow chance (do you see what we did there?)!

promo

What if I told you that you don’t need a genie to afford this handy tractor? For a limited time, you can get this tractor for $0 down, 0% interest, and monthly price as low as $184. Just swing by your local dealer for more information. Not only do you get a great piece of equipment, you also can save your second and third wish for whatever you want. That’s what we in the business call a win-win. After you see everything your new helper can do, you’ll realize that you ain’t never had a friend like your MT122.

Get Your LS Ready for Springtime

It is almost springtime! The birds are chirping, the grass is growing, and the pollen is…coming. That also means you’ve got to get your tractor ready to conquer spring. Keep on reading for some tractor prepping tips, some common springtime projects, and which attachment you may need to accomplish them.

If your tractor has been sitting for those long winter months, you may want to check it out before you crank it up. Here are a few basic maintenance tips to remind you of what you need to keep that tractor running smoothly.

Check the Fluids

Just like any vehicle, it is important to check the fluids especially if it has been sitting during the cold winter months. Make sure you check the engine oil, coolant, and hydraulic transmission fluid. Top off those fluids if they look low and change if needed.

Check the Tires

Make sure all the tires have air in them and there aren’t any tears or leaks. You can always refer to your LS Operators manual for the appropriate tire pressure.

Check the Battery

If you have stored your battery somewhere else for the winter season, make sure to reconnect it. Before reconnecting, check to see if it has enough charge in it.

Lube up the Grease Points

If your tractor has been sitting for a while, adding an adequate amount of lube will help get it back into motion and will prevent long-term wear and tear. Look for the areas on your tractor that move or turn.

Don’t forget to let the engine run after the first initial start for at least 15 minutes before putting it to work. Now that your LS is all warmed up, you might be interested in adding some Spring-time attachments for those upcoming projects.

Rotary Cutter / Finishing Mower

If you have some tough grass that needs taming, an LS Rotary Cutter can cut through the thickest grass. For a smoother appearance, consider our Finishing mower to keep your lawn in tip top shape.

Tiller

A tiller is ideal for getting those garden beds ready for spring season. If gardening or food plots are on your spring to-do list, grab an LS Tractor tiller and get ready to turn some dirt.

Box blade

Is leveling land a task you have been dreading? Dread no further, grab yourself an LS Box Blade and allow the tool to do the work for you.

While we don’t have a way to combat the pollen, we do have the right tool to make your project a one-man job. Get ready to sit back and enjoy Springtime because LS has your back this season!

Awards Night Recap at Dealer Conference

Who doesn’t love a good awards show? You hope your favorite athlete wins the MVP trophy, you root for your favorite TV show to win an Emmy, and you sit back and wonder “who watches these movies” when the Oscars announces their Best Picture Nominees. During this years Dealer Conference in San Antonio, we thought we should get in on the action and hosted our annual Awards Night banquet to honor our dealers who went above and beyond in several categories.

Our nomination process was simple. We asked all of our territory business managers to nominate one dealer for each category. Once we got all of our nominees in, each department picked the winner for their category. For example, our Marketing Department chose the winners for the Social Media, Community Service, and Website awards while Parts and Service chose the winners for their awards and so on. This year, we also recognized dealerships who celebrated their five or ten year anniversary with us in 2022. We look forward to continuing this award to honor our dealers long term partnerships with LS Tractor.

2022 Dealer Conference: Partnering for the Future

2019 seems like so long ago. For example: in November of 2019, Tom Brady was still a Patriot, Old Town Road was in the top 20 on the Billboard Charts, and the national average for a gallon of gas was $2.60. LS Tractor also had a big 2019.

We had just celebrated our 10th birthday in the USA and we had our annual dealer conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sadly, we all know what happened in 2020 and how the world was forced to change overnight. One of the biggest changes was the cancelation of many in-person events, a change that continued until earlier this year.

Thankfully, the world has settled into a new normal (yeah, we know. We’ll put a dollar in the “Things We’re Tired of Hearing” Jar.) and we can now start having in person conferences, trainings, and events again! After searching the US, the LS Tractor Team found the perfect city to host our glorious return: San Antonio, Texas. If you have ever heard of San Antonio, you probably know it from two things: The Riverwalk, a social district winding throughout the city, or the historic Alamo, the fabled battlefield where American legends such as Davey Crockett and Jim Bowie died fighting for Texas’s freedom.

Our Conference officially kicked off on November 7 as our attendees arrived at the San Antonio Airport. Dealers were greeted by LS Tractor displays at baggage claim and were able to hop on the LS Express shuttle to be taken directly to our hotel, the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk. At check-in, dealers were handed specially made room keys with our LS Tractor and Slogan on one side, and a unique Mossy Oak camo pattern on the other. After visiting our conference registration booth, where they received a welcome bag and other goodies, our dealers had a few hours to explore San Antonio before our welcome reception got the night started.

Monday evening, our dealers walked across the block to the Alamo for a private welcome reception. Attendees sampled local Tex-Mex cuisine, drank beverages that were made near San Antonio, and rocked out with Gunpowder Soup, San Antonio’s favorite party band. During the concert, LS Tractor CEO Mike Kim and Vice President of Sales Mark Oehmke welcomed the dealers and thanked them for coming to Texas. We had so much fun that the band didn’t want to leave and played five “encore” songs to keep the party going after hours.

After a good nights sleep, dealers started the morning off right with a delicious breakfast before General Session started. LS Mtron CEO Mr. Shin welcomed our dealers and sponsors before debuting a brand new video highlighting the partnership between South Korea and the USA over the years. Our CEO Mike Kim then took the stage to show everyone in attendance a look into the future of LS Tractor before Finance, Dealer Development, Parts, and Product gave updates on what they are working on for 2023. Dealers were then divided up into four groups and took turns rotating through our breakout sessions, where they heard from Product, Service, Marketing, and visited with several of our sponsors at our LS Tractor Vendor Hall.

After breakouts wrapped up, dealers attended the afternoon slate of General Sessions. Marketing kicked off the afternoon by announcing a new partnership with Mossy Oak. More information and details will be arriving this winter, so stay tuned to the LS Tractor Blog to learn what this exciting partnership means for you! Finally, our key-note speaker Lou Mongello gave tips on how to create a platinum customer experience at our dealerships.

This year, we debuted a new event for new dealers. The New Dealer Reception was held before our Awards Banquet and allowed our newest dealers time to mingle and interact with LS Tractor employees and members of the LS Tractor Dealer Council. Immediately following the reception, all dealers went to the annual Awards Banquet. Be sure to catch our next blog post announcing our winners! The night ended with a magical announcement: next years conference will be held in Orlando, Florida!

Wednesday started off with another delicious breakfast before we loaded up the LS Express once more to head to Pedrotti’s Ranch for our hands on product day. Dealers were greeted by a trick roper and his horse before heading into the rodeo arena. On the way into the arena, dealers got a first look at our new Mossy Oak Camo Tractor! Once everyone settled into their seats, our trick roper showed everyone a few tricks before handing over the reins to our Product Team. The Product Team spent all morning showing off our tractor line up and ended the session by debuting our brand new MT2 models, arriving later next year.

After spending some time riding and driving our tractors, Dealers wrapped up the conference by meeting with their territory Business Managers. Once the territory meetings were over, LS Employees lined up to show our appreciation to every single one of our dealers. We know that they are an important part of our family and we can’t wait to continue partnering with all of them in the future.

A lot can change in three years. Tom Brady moved on and won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay and thankfully, America’s musical taste has advanced past Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus. One thing that hasn’t changed though is how much we appreciate our dealers. Events like Dealer Conference are just one way we get to see them and show how much they mean to us. Although we can’t predict exactly what the next three years will hold (Brady to the Panthers, anyone?), we can say that LS Tractor will continue to show our dealers and our customers why they should Start Blue and Stay Blue.

Happy Employees Make Happier Customers

Raise your hand if you remember the “Happy Cows” commercials from the early 2000’s. If you don’t, here’s the basic gist. California’s cheese industry ran a campaign that said great cheese only comes from happy cows and the happiest cows were in California. Since the cows were happy in the California (or, as they should have called it, Cowifornia) sunshine, they automatically made better cheese. (This is also a great place to note that LS Tractor USA takes no stance on the apparent cheese war between California and Wisconsin. We love all cheeses equally.)  Cheese isn’t the only thing that’s made better by happy workers. Here at LS Tractor, we believe that happy employees also make better tractors!

Several times throughout the year, we hold teamwork and fellowship events. These events bring all of our departments together for a day of fun, fellowship, and of course, food. Earlier this month, our employees met to each paint a piece of our brand new LS Mural that will be displayed at our Battleboro, NC headquarters. Each piece is unique, but when put together makes up our LS Tractor logo. Painting not your thing? Don’t worry! We also have surprise pizza parties, a company holiday party, and many more opportunities to mingle and laugh with our team.

table crafts activity

Parties and events aren’t the only thing that makes a happy employee. Our fulltime employees are eligible for health insurance on day one. Employees are also eligible for vacation and personal time from day one as well! We understand that being happy means giving our team members the ability to take care of themselves, both physically and mentally.

Want to save some money? LS Team Members also have access to our marketplace full of discounts on everything from TV’s to pet insurance. You’ll never know what you’ll find!

Want to join our team? Just visit our website, lstractorusa.com, and click on the careers tab at the top of the page. We have several openings and will have more as we continue to grow so be sure to check on a regular basis! If great cheese comes from happy cows, then it just makes sense that great tractors come from a happy company. Having employee events, great healthcare and many more benefits are just a few reasons why LS tractor is a good place to work. A good place to work + happy employees = great tractors: that’s just simple math.

It’s Showtime!

Opening Day: an occasion every sports fan loves. As the offseason ends, fans race to see what exciting new changes their team made. Will the rookie get a home run on his first at bat? What weirdly bright color will the local NFL team wear as their alternate jerseys? Will this be the year that your NHL team brings home Lord Stanley’s Cup? Excitement builds as the season gets closer and closer until finally, it’s time to start the season. But why should sports teams get all the fun? Here at LS Tractor, it’s almost opening day for our favorite time of the year: Farm Show Season.

Are you new to the Farm Show scene? Let’s go over some basics for you. The Season runs in two halves, starting in early August. Shows continue almost every week until late October, which is when most farmers start harvesting their crops. The Season picks back up in January and wraps up in late February or early March. Farm Shows are held all across the US and Canada during this time and can be either indoor, outdoor, or a combination of both, depending on the region and the time of year.

Much like how your favorite team shows off their new players on opening day, tractor companies showcase their newest products during Farm Show Season. Most of the time, Farm Shows are the first place members of the public can interact with new tractors and new technology. Think of it as a meet and greet with your local team: you’ll get to see your old favorites but also get a glimpse at the future players who just may end up being your kids favorite.

New products aren’t the only thing you get to interact with at Farm Shows. Have you ever wanted the chance to talk to the coach and let him know how you really feel about a player? Company Representatives attend all major shows, so don’t be afraid to visit and talk to them! If you see a tractor you want to bring home to your team, your local dealer will be in attendance to help you find the best option for you. Think of it as having your very own agent who will walk you through the buying process and make sure your tractor is the best fit for you.

Want to know when your local show is? Make sure you follow us on social media and see when our team will be near you! Stop by and tell us why you love your LS or let us tell you why you should be the next member of Team LS. We have lots of surprises in store for you this Season and are excited to meet each and every one of you at our booth.

Opening Day will be August 2nd at Empire Farm Days in New York. We’ll bring the tractors; you bring the peanuts and crackerjacks.

Educating Our Dealers

Have you ever heard the saying “When you marry someone, you also marry their family”? Tractor buying is no different. When you go looking for a new tractor to use around your house or farm, you are not only choosing a tractor company, you are also choosing a local dealer! Here at LS Tractor, we know that your local dealer is one of the most important people in your tractor owning life, so we make sure that our dealers are educated on our products and services and they have the support they need.

Throughout the year, LS Tractor offers several training classes all around the nation to help ensure our dealer network is up to date on all of our newest products. These trainings not only offer informative presentations with LS staff, they also allow your local dealer to have hands on training using our new tractors and implements so they can help you with any question you may have. Do you need to know if you need a Root Rake or a Root Grapple? Ask your dealer!

Are you needing to have your tractor serviced? We train on that too! Our parts and service department holds multiple service trainings to help your local dealers service staff learn the tips and tricks that can get your tractor serviced and back out working for you as quick as possible. And if your dealer needs some backup, our service department has service managers all over the US and Canada to make sure that your dealer has the support and resources they need.

Between Service Trainings, Dealer Trainings, and Conferences and Workshops, we offer over 11 weeks of training throughout the year! With all of this training, you can rest easy knowing that you are buying a tractor from a dealer who knows what they are talking about. After all, when you buy a tractor, you are joining their family. With our dealer support services, we make sure that our dealers are your fun cousin who you love seeing and not that weird uncle you avoid. So go pay your local LS dealer a visit and come join our family today!

How to Beat The Heat

It’s almost officially summer and you know what that means: longer days, family cookouts, and hot afternoons working outside. No matter what part of the nation you work in, that summertime heat can drain your energy and if you aren’t careful can send you directly to the hospital. So how can you stay cool while you get your work done? We’ve got your back.

One of the most important things to know is the warning signs of heat illness, which can quickly turn into heat stroke if you are not careful. If you start feeling weak or confused, dizzy, nauseous, or have cold, clammy skin with a fast heartrate, you need to take a break and drink some fluids immediately. If you ignore these signs, you will start showing heat stroke symptoms. They include a lack of sweating, vomiting, being disoriented, and rapid heartrate and breathing. If you or someone you know starts showing these symptoms, call 911 and move them to a shaded place immediately.

Now that you know what to watch for, let’s talk about how to avoid that and stay as cool as a cucumber. The best way to stay cool is to avoid being outside during the heat of the day, usually from noon to about 4 PM. Sadly, your work won’t finish itself so sometimes that is not an option.

If you have to be outside, wear loose, breathable clothes and a wide brimmed hat. Avoid dark colors and any heavy fabrics. Be sure to bring lots of water with you, along with an electrolyte replacement fluid if you will be sweating a lot. Finally, don’t be afraid to take a break every hour to let your body have a chance to cool down.

Another great way to beat the heat is to purchase a tractor with an air-conditioned cab and you’re in luck! Here at LS Tractor, our MT3 Series and higher are available with AC equipped cabs so you can take whatever Mr. Sun throws at you. So, crank that A/C and get to work so you can be grilling out poolside while your neighbors finish up their chores at night. If you’re nice, you can use your LS (which comes with a FREE front-end loader, by the way) to dig them up a pool to help stay cool but just remember: those burgers and brats won’t grill themselves.

LS Gives Back

A person’s worth isn’t by how much they accumulate, but instead by how much they can give back to their community and those in need. At LS Tractor, we believe that corporations and businesses should be judged the same way, which is why we are proud to announce our newest local program.

Woman holding red daisy in greenhouse

When Kawtar Lourhraz first started working at LSTA in Assembly as the Product Management Engineer, she noticed that we had a box problem: mainly that we had too many boxes and nothing to do with them. You see, whenever we get deliveries of implements or attachments, they come in wood crates. These wood crates would then sit at one of our assembly plants until a disposal company would come pick them up to recycle. However, Kawtar saw an opportunity to both help open up much needed space in the warehouse AND help out people in the Battleboro community. She realized that the boxes were the perfect size to be repurposed into garden boxes.

After doing some research, Kawtar contacted the Conetoe Family Life Center and talked to Reverend Richard Joyner, the Chairman of the Board and a local commissioner. After a few emails, they both agreed that the boxes would be a perfect fit and started planning the program.

Rev. Joyner used his contacts within the community and placed several boxes around the city for free community gardens. He also reached out to a local nursery who agreed to help modify boxes if needed and who would supply recipients with free plants so they can grow their own food. He then opened up applications for these food and garden boxes to anyone in the city and has gotten overwhelming positive feedback, especially from schools and the seniorcitizen population, who may not be able to bend over and garden.

As the growing season continues, we will keep you posted on how the gardens are doing! Special thanks to Kawtar for putting this community project together and for thinking about ways to help our community. We want everyone in our community to know that no matter what happens, LS has your back and we look forward to starting more community initiatives soon!

A Quick Guide to Tractor Categories

Being a first-time buyer of anything can be stressful. In today’s world, everything is divided up into categories that offer customers a variety of choices. Do you want the HD TV, the Ultra HD TV, or the 4K TV? Do you want the Ranch house or the “could be haunted but let’s risk it” Victorian House? Tractor buying is no different. There are many different categories for you, but which one do you want? Lucky for you we’re here to help.

Category Levels

Tractor categories start at the lawn level and go all the way up to the agricultural level. Each manufacturer plays with the horsepower some, but at times you will find the same HP in every category, give or take a few outliers.

Lawn Tractors

Lawn Tractors are the babies of the tractor family. You may know these by their more familiar name: lawn mowers. Usually, these tractors don’t have a ton of HP and really do not offer many attachments. Their main function is to mow grass. It’s really cut and dry with lawn tractors: if you are just looking for something to cut grass with, these will be perfect. However, if you want to use implements, have more power, or be able to pull anything worth pulling, you may want to look at our next category.

Sub-Compact Tractors

So you looked at the Lawn Tractors and think you need something a little bigger. Welcome to the Sub-Compact category! Sub-Compacts offer the smaller size advantage of a lawn tractor but with the ability to use a wide range of implements or attachments. Here at LS, we offer our MT1 series in the Sub-Compact range. The MT125 has 24.7 HP and can lift over 1,000 pounds in it’s (currently free!) front loader. You also have the option to add a mid-deck mower, a backhoe, a snowblower, or any of our other range of implements!

Compact Tractors

Need more tractor? Then look no further than our next category: Compact Tractors. Compact Tractors can range in HP from 25 to 57 HP and are able to use even more implements. They also come with more options, such as factory installed cabs! Compact Tractors are our bread and butter at LS and we offer several different series to help with whatever you need. The category starts with the MT2 series, which ranges from 24.6 to 40 HP, and includes the MT3, which runs from 45 HP to 57 HP, depending on the model.

Utility Tractors

Finally, our last main group is the Utility category. These tractors are the hard-hitting workhorses you see on farms. We start out with the MT4 series, which comes with a cab or a ROPS, whichever you need! The MT4’s has a range of 58-68 Hp. Next up, we have the MT5, which weighs in at 73 horsepower. This beauty comes with a standard cab and climate control, so you can be comfortable in any climate. Closing out the Utility group is our flagship model, the MT7. It can lift over 5,000 LBS thanks to its 100.6 HP engine and durable frame. Your chores won’t stand a chance.

Find your New LS Tractor

Now that you have this cheat sheet for tractor categories, go see your local dealer and tell them what you will be using your new LS for. They can point you in the right direction and you can test drive a few models to see which one fits you best. If you want a more in-depth discussion about tractor categories, check out our first episode of Beyond the Cab by clicking here or by searching us on any major podcast platform!

April Showers Brings May Mowing

Dads, it’s time to break out those (formerly) white sneakers and rejoice: it’s almost lawn mowing season! We know you probably already have your old trusty mower that has lived through five different presidents, but this year why not finally retire it and upgrade to a mower that can do so much more than just cut grass?

Our Subcompact MT1 Series or the larger MT225s with available mid-mount mower deck can make lawn work a breeze. Not only can you keep your yard in picture perfect picnic shape with it’s 60” cutting width, but you can also haul away limbs and help put out a fresh layer of mulch by purchasing your tractor with our ever-popular front loader! (Did we mention the front loader is currently free with any tractor purchase? It’s true!) Need to plant some greenery while you’re outside? Check out our backhoe attachment as well to help with all your digging needs. All our mid-mount mower decks come with adjustable cutting heights, three blades, and include a comprehensive warranty backed by our legendary LS Service Team.

Using any of our mid-mower deck equipped tractors is easy due toh our hydrostatic transmissions. Just put the tractor in the range you need and press the pedal to go forwards or reverse. Now you can let your older kids do the yard work and not have to listen to the excuse that they can’t drive a manual transmission! It’s really a win-win.

Is your lawn in need of some hard work? Bring in the big guns with our pull-behind finishing mowers. Our finishing mowers have a cutting width of up to 84” so they will have no problem cutting any mowing job down to size.

So your grass is cut but now what do you do with all of the grass clippings? Don’t worry friends: LS has you covered there as well. Ask your dealer about our available grass catchers so you don’t have to worry about the clean-up after doing your chores.

Look, we get it: your old mower has been with you through thick and thin. But why should you use three machines, a wheelbarrow and a shovel when one LS can do it all. As an added bonus, you can keep those white Reeboks clean and impress all your other friends at the local hardware store. Buy your LS for cutting your grass, keep it for everything else. And trust us: you’ll find all kinds of ways to use it.

Talking about Tilling

Ah Springtime: the birds are finally chirping, the days are finally getting warmer and longer, and (at least if you live in the South) everything is covered in pollen. It really is such a magical time. Spring also means it’s time to start getting ready to plant your garden and lots of home gardeners miss an important step: tilling.

Why Should you Till?

So what exactly is tilling and why is it so important? Tilling is basically the process of loosening the soil before you start planting. This process helps re-oxygenate the soil and helps get it ready for your veggies to live their best life. It also has the extra benefit of reducing weeds! Every winter, weed seeds lurk right below the surface: just waiting to spring up and overtake your garden. Tilling chops those seeds and roots up, making it harder for those weeds and easier on your back.

Before You Start

Before tilling, you need to make sure the area is clear of trash, rocks, or anything that could damage your tiller. You also want to make sure that the ground is warm and dry enough for you to till. Just because it is 70 degrees outside doesn’t mean that the ground is that warm. A good test for soil warmth is to stick your finger about 2-3 inches into the dirt. If your finger gets cold after about a minute, then it’s still too cold to till. If you till before the ground is ready, you’ll actually do more harm than good. Tilling is also a good time to introduce fertilizer or compost to your garden! Spread your nutrients of choice on the ground just before you till. Then, when you loosen the soil, you also add back very important nutrients so your garden can get the food it needs. It’s a win-win!

Tilling Checklist

Let’s run over our checklist one more time: We’ve made sure the area is free of any rocks or trash, we’ve made sure the ground is both dry AND warm, and we’ve spread helpful nutrients over the plot of land. Looks like we are ready to go! You can till the old fashioned way: with a shovel, rake, wheelbarrow, gloves, and the needed trip afterwards to your local chiropractor. If that doesn’t sound very fun to you, you can also use a mechanical tiller! Here at LS Tractor though, we want to make things easy on you. If you have a tractor, check out our line of PTO powered tillers. Just hook it up behind your tractor and off you go. Easy Peasy.

After Tilling

Once you’ve tilled, either by hand or by tractor, make sure you wait a week or two before you plant your garden to give the soil enough time to absorb all the nutrients you just fed it. Just make sure you only till at most twice a year in order to help control erosion. Then this summer when you have the best garden in town, you can kick back and watch everyone else wonder how you did it. Some experts say that jealousy is the best fertilizer for a small garden and now you are set up for the best bounty of all: bragging rights.

LSTA in the USA

Did you know LS Tractor has been making tractors since 1977? It’s true! In 1977, Korea Heavy Industries and Construction Company began production of a new line of tractors in Gunpo, South Korea in collaboration with Fiat. Then, in 1983, LS Mtron acquired KHIC’s tractor division and LS Tractor was officially born. In 1997, LG Machinery took the next big step in becoming a worldwide company and started exporting machinery overseas.  In 2003, LS Mtron spun off the LG Group, which is known for their electronics, and became the best-selling tractor in South Korea in 2013. Tractors are made in our state-of-the-art factory in South Korea and then shipped overseas to plants in Brazil, China and right here in America.

LS Tractor USA, or LSTA, was founded in 2009 and we quickly signed an OEM, or Outside Equipment Manufacturer, agreement with Case/ New Holland to provide tractors for their lower HP lines. Once all the paperwork was finished, we chose Battleboro, North Carolina as our new North American Headquarters and main assembly plant.

Once the tractors arrive from South Korea, they head to one of our three assembly plants: North Carolina, Louisiana, or California. Once at their respective plant, our assembly team works tirelessly to get the tractors ready for their new home. Our assembly teams do everything from putting on the needed tires, to installing cabs or ROPS systems, to adding any extra accessories, such as our front-end loaders or mid-deck mowers. Once the tractors are ready to go, they are shipped to your local dealer where you can pick up the newest member of your team!

Finding a dealer in your neck of the woods won’t be a problem either! LS Tractor USA has a dealer network of over 350 independently owned and operated dealerships across the United States and Canada, so chances are you have a friendly face right down the road who can answer any of your LS Tractor questions. If there isn’t a dealer located near you, don’t worry! We are constantly adding new, qualified dealers who can provide our legendary LS Service.

LS Tractor USA also has a robust parts network for your local dealer. Our parts department, headquartered just a few miles away from our Battleboro HQ, prides itself on quickly getting your dealer the parts they need to keep your LS Tractor in top shape.

Although most of our full-time staff works out of our Battleboro HQ, in 2021 we opened a new Sales and Marketing Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, just minutes away from RDU Airport and the famed Research Triangle Park. This new location allows us to recruit new team members from areas such as Duke University, NC State University, UNC Chapel Hill, and from the many tech companies that call the region home.

As you can see, with dealers in every state and throughout Canada, a parts network that ensures your tractor stays ready for whatever you need it for, and assembly plants across America, LS Tractor USA is well equipped to help build America’s future: one project at a time.
