LS Tractor’s Pink Tractor

Chances are, you or someone you know have been affected by cancer. Any cancer diagnosis can initiate fear, panic and dread. And for women, about thirty percent of all new cancer diagnoses will be breast cancer. This type of cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women in the United States. Since 1985, October has been known as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the goal has been to educate and empower women to take control of their breast health. The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by Janelle Hail, a breast cancer survivor. Janelle has committed her life to educating women around the world about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. She continues to help women and inspire hope for survival. Though there is no known cure for breast cancer currently, early detection such as routine self-breast exams and annual mammograms are critical to survival.

This year, LS Tractor recognized October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by displaying their one-of-a-kind candy pink tractor in front of the main plant in Battleboro, N.C. This tractor was an idea that came to fruition in 2019 thanks to Ray Page, a previous Marketing Partnership Coordinator for LS Tractor. The color pink was used as it has become a universal symbol for breast cancer awareness. Ray partnered with Adam Wolfe of Dreamworks Motor Sports in Roxboro, N.C. to design and create the LS “Pink Cancer Tractor” as a global reminder that we all know someone affected by cancer. They specifically chose pink to honor breast cancer survivors, remember those who lost the battle, and to encourage those currently facing this diagnosis. Even though the tractor is pink, Adam dedicated the tractor to his grandfather, Horace Wolfe, who battled cancer for over fifteen years before it took his life. For Ray and Adam, this tractor represents hope and courage for all who have been affected by the disease.

The pink LS MT225E made its first appearance at the 2019 NC State Fair in Raleigh, N.C. A sign on the front loader encouraged spectators to take a picture with the tractor to share with someone battling cancer, or post a picture as a memorial for someone that lost the battle using the hashtag #PinkCancerTractor. The tractor has made an appearance each October since 2019, and has recently gained the attention of several dealers who are interested in purchasing the tractor for display. LS Tractor is always proud to showcase this one-of-a-kind tractor to honor all people affected by cancer.

Sadly, statistics state that in 2024 more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. But the good news is there are over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. When caught in its earliest stages, the five-year relative survival rate is 99%. Early detection is crucial, and we at LS Tractor encourage all women to monitor their breast health through monthly self-breast exams, routine clinical breast exams, and annual mammograms for women over the age of 40. From Owner to Influencer: Mallard 5 (+1) Farmhouse

In our latest video, we sit down with CJ from Mallard 5 (+1) Farmhouse to hear his journey with LS Tractor. CJ’s was introduced to LS after seeing some of his family members use their LS Tractor for years with zero issues. With that positive experience, CJ decided to become an LS Tractor owner himself, and it didn’t take long before he realized he made the right choice.

Noticing a lack of LS Tractor content online, he took matters into his own hands. With only negative reviews circulating, CJ saw a gap in the conversation. His own tractor had been powering through every job, so he started filming his experience. From brush clearing to heavy-duty farm projects, CJ began documenting how reliable and efficient LS Tractors truly are.

Introducing the New MT7 Series

2024 has been a big year for us! To recap, earlier this year we launched our first update to the MT2 and MT2E series featuring our new “LS Family” look. A few months ago, following the MT2, was the launch of the MT4 series and just a month ago we released the new 74 horsepower tractor in our MT7 line, the MT774. If you have been keeping up this far, we just released the MT7101 horsepower tractor, officially completing the new MT7 series.

The new MT7 tractor line is full of power. The MT774 and MT7101 are slam-packed with deluxe features and paramount power, built to handle the toughest tasks on the farm. With its new 74 horsepower engine, it does not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and has up to an 8.5% increase in fuel efficiency, which is essential for making the most out of your time working on the homestead.

What we like the most about the new MT7 series is the way these tractors can perform tasks that would typically require a larger framed tractor. That way you can use this powerful machine in tighter spaces that may require some maneuvering. From dawn until dusk, this tractor is ready to plow through mountains of brush, haul tree stumps with ease, all while navigating through tight spaces a bigger tractor could not fit. The loader you will use for your heavy lifting is the same as our MT7101 with a lift capacity of 5,139lbs, to full height at pivot pins.

In LS Tractor’s utility lineup, the addition of the 74-horsepower tractor will add a much-requested variety when it comes to choosing the right LS for your land. This new model will also allow loyal LS customers to upgrade with new and improved features.

Now I know you are dying to know what some of those new features are. The most obvious is the sleek new look, especially the hood, along with a deeper blue body, black accents, and gray rims. The new design isn’t only for show: the redesigned hood allows for improved engine performance and serviceability and the new LED head lights allow for efficient work in on those gloomier days.

Inside the cab you can expect a much roomier feel and an improved layout, including upgrades to the dashboard and controls to make your job easier. In this MT7, the engine is now quieter, and you can feel less vibration in the cab making it the perfect place to be.

From Test Drives to Generosity: LS Tractor’s Contribution to Ag Education

At the beginning of this year, we launched our new MT2 and MT2E Series with a brand-new design and updated features. Before this release, we decided to do some testing. A few of our dealers, some colleagues, and two local colleges helped us out by testing our new products. The testing made sure our products performed successfully in a variety of environments and were ready for our customers. To return the friendly favor, LS Tractor has decided to donate two MT2E tractors to the colleges in hopes to assist in the advancement of agricultural higher education. The two schools that will be receiving the tractors are Edgecombe Community College and Nash Community College, both neighbors of our Headquarters in Battleboro, North Carolina.

Edgecombe Community College

Founded in 1967, Edgecombe Community College (ECC) has been serving the educational, training, and cultural needs of Edgecombe County and surrounding areas. They have two campuses located in Tarboro and Rocky Mount and offer online classes. The college serves about 5,500 individuals annually and in 2023, ECC was named as one of the top 150 institutions by the Aspen Institute.

ECC’s Agribusiness Technology Department will be utilizing the tractor. The Agribusiness Technology Department prepares students to manage agricultural business and agriculturally related operations with diversified corporations. The program aims to equip individuals with the entrepreneurial and technical skills required to manage sustainable, community-focused small farm or agricultural enterprises. Students will have the opportunity to develop hands-on skills by learning to operate, drive, and maintain the tractor.

Nash Community College

Nash Community College is located in Rocky Mount North Carolina and is a public two-year post-secondary educational institution with an open-door admissions policy. Since its establishment in 1967, Nash Community College has annually served around 12,000 individuals. Providing a diverse range of academic programs, 99 in total, the college offers pathways leading to degrees, diplomas, or certificates.

The MT2E’s initial use will be for maintenance staff to maintain the College campus, however the College is in the process of planning to offer an agricultural related continuing education program. Nash Community College has recently began offering a heavy equipment operator course which will utilize the tractor for instructional purposes. Currently, students in the Heavy Equipment Program use the excavator, backhoe, forklift, and a simulated skid steer system. The MT2E with additional implements will be a great addition for students to learn from.

Greg Deans, NCC’s Director of Facilities shares, “Having the opportunity to test one of the LS models, I was very impressed with the overall features of this tractor.”

Importance of Agriculture Higher Education

LS Tractor recognizes the importance of higher education, especially in the agricultural community, where continuous learning is often essential for career advancement. As one of the latest models in the market, the MT2E will provide students with hands-on experience with machinery they’ll encounter in their professional lives. By donating these tractors, we hope to support numerous students in reaching their goals and progressing toward successful careers in the future.

The official donation will be announced on May 10^th, 2024, at LS Tractor’s new plant’s Grand Opening ceremony in Battleboro, North Carolina. We are happy to have both Edgecombe and Nash Community Colleges there to celebrate with us. We appreciate all you do for our local community, your support in developing students’ growth, and your advocacy for the importance of higher education in agricultural studies.

Summertime Crops for Hobby Farmers

There are so many delicious summertime crops that you can grow right in your backyard. With minimal effort, many fruits and vegetables thrive in the hot summer months, perfect for enjoying with friends and family or selling successful batches at your local farmer’s market. Make sure to begin sowing after the last frost of the season to ensure plenty of time for seedlings to mature into tasty produce.

Top 5 Summer Crops to Grow with Ease

Green beans

Green beans are very easy to grow and can be enjoyed raw, steamed, or stir-fried. There are a few variations to how green beans grow; some grow on a vine and need a stake or pole for support, and others grow in a small bushy shape and do not need staking.

Green beans need sun, space, and slightly acid, well-draining soil.
They grow well in full sun and can be planted throughout the year after frost has passed and then up to 10-12 weeks before the next expected frost.
They like warm soil about 65 degrees, although excessively high temperatures can weaken and damage the plants.
The harvest days vary and can range from 50-85 days. The seed packet will be the best estimate for when to harvest.

Bell peppers

There are so many varieties of peppers to brighten and spice up your dishes.

Plant after last spring frost. Plant them 18 to 24 inches apart in a sunny, well-drained spot.
Pepper plants need at least 6-8 hours of sunlight a day. Water immediately after planting and aim for 1-2 inches per week (or more if its hotter).
Support each pepper plant with a stake or small tomato cage to help bear the weight once it begins to produce.
For harvest, you may have to wait until late summer for plants to load up with fruit and for your bells to grow big.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are another easy crop to grow and can be harvested at different times depending on your ideal size.

Cucumbers grow the best in late spring and summer after the danger of frost has passed. Similarly to green beans, cucumbers like the soil to be at least 65 degrees.
Cucumbers grow best in well-draining soil that has lots of organic matter like compost. Cucumbers also thrive in full sun and like to have 6-8 hours of sunlight per day.
Cucumbers require consistent watering, especially when the plant starts to flower and fruit. Check the variety for the ideal size for harvest, some can be very small or large depending on the variety.

Squash / Zucchini

Squash comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and grow on vines, so they need room to spread out. Grill, roast or steam and enjoy.

Plant summer squash when all chances of frost have passed; winter squash can be planted mid-summer.
Squash needs 6 or more hours of sun and rich, well-drained soil.
Can harvest baby summer squash once they are large enough to eat or wait until they reach full size (usually 6 to 8 inches long).

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a summertime classic, but don’t let this vine-like fruit scare you, they are surprisingly easy to grow and always taste so much better grown at home.

Tomatoes run on warmth; plant in late spring and early summer and make sure to until last frost to plant.
Like most of the summer crops, tomatoes also need at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight.
To grow, you will need to stake or cage the tomato plants to keep them off the ground. Each plant needs plenty of room to grow, at least 2 to 3 feet apart. Water regularly and aim for at least an inch of moisture per week.
As tomatoes begin to ripen, their color shifts from a lively medium green to a lighter hue, often with subtle pink or yellow blushing. Feel free to harvest for mixed tomatoes or wait until they are vibrant red and feel firm when gently squeezed.

Transforming Rural Property with an LS Tractor

Before purchasing an LS Tractor, Bob’s rural property had more challenges than opportunities. Spread across 5 acres, with 3 of those acres covered in dense woods and construction debris left behind by the previous owner, Bob found himself putting projects on hold. The wooded area was overgrown and unwelcoming, with fallen trees and thick brush making it nearly impassable. Clearing the land and turning it into a usable, beautiful space appeared to be an overwhelming task.

Bob’s search for a solution initially led him to Kubota. Bob passed a local Kubota all the time on his way to Auburn to visit his children and decided to stop by. The Kubota salesperson was pushy with their sales tactics and talked negative about competitors, which ended up pushing Bob away and postponing his search for a tractor yet again.

An unexpected opportunity to audition for an LS Tractor commercial is what introduced Bob to the brand. As luck would have it, both Bob and his son were casted in the commercial, providing firsthand experience of the genuine passion and enthusiasm the LS family had for their product. Within weeks of the shoot, the decision was made to invest in an LS Tractor.

What sold Bob on LS was not just the affordability compared to other brands, but also the genuine enthusiasm and authenticity displayed by the LS team. During the commercial shoot, Bob met a company that wasn’t solely focused on selling a product but sincerely believed in the value it could bring to customers. Bob has worked on

many commercials, where the main goal is usually to get people to spend money. But LS’s commercial felt different; it seemed to honestly express excitement for the product and aimed to inform consumers about what the tractor line could do for them. Bob made his purchase 2 weeks later.

Since purchasing his LS Tractor, Bob has transformed his property. He has cleared 8-10 trees and removed tons of gravel and rocks. Using his bush hog and rake on his MT125, the wooded area has been meticulously manicured. What once seemed like an impossible task has become not only achievable but enjoyable, thanks to Bob’s new LS Tractor.

If Bob were to describe his experience with LS Tractor in one word, it would be “friendly.” From the personalized service to the genuine passion for their product, working with LS Tractor has been a refreshingly positive experience from start to finish.

Celebrating SLIs 15 Years of Starting and Staying Blue

This year, LS Tractor is proudly celebrating 15 years in the USA and Canada. Did you know that 15 years ago Apple released the iPhone 3, Bitcoin was launched, and The Office was airing live on TV? The world was quite different, huh? 15 years is a significant amount of time, and we are thrilled to celebrate alongside our outstanding dealers, customers, and employees. As part of our tribute, we are sharing stories from those who have been with us every step of the way during this 15-year journey.

Sandy Lake Implement (SLI) has been our proud partner since the very beginning and has been selling LS Tractors since 2009. However, Sandy Lake’s roots in the tractor industry run deep; they established their business in 1954 and are celebrating their 70^th anniversary this year. What an achievement!

Sandy Lake Implement, located in Sandy Lake Pennsylvania, had its humble beginnings in the basement of the original owners’ home. A few years later, they began the process of moving the business from their basement into their own building just next door. Throughout the years, expansions were made, including a showroom, workshop, and office space. In 1982, the original owners entrusted the business to their three employees, passing on the legacy. Through decades of changes, SLI has persevered as a locally owned family business, showing its strong dedication to the local community.

In 2020, Sandy Lake employees Scott and Helena purchased the company and persuaded their spouses to join them in this new adventure. Since then, they have taken on several new OPE brands while remaining loyal to LS and refusing to take on another tractor line.

We asked SLI why they have partnered with us for so many years. They said being able to customize their products to fit their customers’ preferences is essential. They were pleased with our flexibility, as it has allowed them to avoid strict corporate inventory mandates and unnecessary orders. Pairing their sales expertise in tractors, and ability to offer LS branded implements, the partnership was a no brainer. Much like our satisfied customers, Sandy Lake also testifies to the fact that with LS, you truly get more value for your money.

According to Sandy Lake, some of the ways LS Tractor has grown over the last 15 years is by continually expanding our tractor line. Recently, we introduced two new models, the MT2 and MT2E, which come with various new features. Additionally, our brand awareness has grown as we’ve concentrated on marketing efforts, making us more recognizable among small and medium-sized farmers and hobbyists. In recent years, LS has begun providing training sessions for sales and service, and we’ve enhanced customer accessibility to find parts and equipment through our website.

Every day, SLI aims to improve as an LS dealer, surpassing their previous accomplishments. They strive to increase tractor sales, expand their parts inventory, and ensure their technicians stay certified. Their goal is to become LS Tractor’s largest single-location dealership. Sandy Lake is looking forward to the next 15 years with LS. When asked about their vision for the future, they mentioned ongoing growth with a broader range of equipment, including higher horsepower tractors. We like the sound of that! Sandy Lake’s mentions could be hinting at some exciting advancements from LS Tractor in the future.

February Farm Show Kickoff

LS Tractor took a ride on the infamous February farm show tour. Two of the largest farm shows in the country just so happen to fall during the same week, and even over-lap event days. While we are not sure why these two events are scheduled this way, we were thrilled to take on the adventure of traveling from one side of the country to the other to see what’s the latest and greatest in the ag industry. We started our trip in Raleigh, North Carolina, and flew to Tulare, California for the World Ag Expo show. After a few days in California, we flew back to the east coast to Louisville, Kentucky for the National Farm Machinery show. Keep reading as we share some background of each event, which LS Tractor products were present, and some interesting sights that were seen!

World Ag Expo – Tulare, California

Up first on our farm show expedition, was the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California. This show is the largest annual outdoor ag show in the US with over 1,200 exhibitors on 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space. The attendance is more than 100,000 people each year. LS Tractor has been attending the World Ag show for a few years now and look forward to it each year. This year we had 17 tractors on display and welcomed several of our local California dealers, who eagerly engaged with both new customers and the loyal attendees who make it a tradition to join us at the World Ag show annually.

While enjoying the sun and the beautiful California weather, attendees walked around the show, treated to a wide range of farm equipment. Among the attractions was some impressive state-of-the-art machinery, showcasing the latest innovations in the ag industry. The food at this show was very noteworthy; from hearty breakfast burritos to savory short rib sandwiches, providing yet another reason to drop by. At our booth, we featured our Limited-Edition Mossy Oak Camo tractor, our new MT2 and MT2E models, and some exciting new prototypes. The booth next to ours had a t-shirt cannon going off nearly every hour. It was fun to watch the crowds come up and try to catch a t-shirt…it gave us some ideas…maybe next year, you’ll have to come out to the World Ag Expo to see what we have in store in 2025.

National Farm Machinery Show – Louisville, Kentucky

Our next stop was Louisville, Kentucky for the National Farm Machinery Show. This is the country’s largest indoor farm show. This show is held at the Kentucky Exposition Center and offers 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space with 300,000 in attendance every year. At this show, LS Tractor showcased select models, featuring our new MT2 series and of course our MT122 sitting high and pretty on top of our impressive booth. At our booth, you can see a large LS decal logo, and two counters, one which contained some awesome giveaway items that may have been big enough to fit an actual person inside… you had to be there.

At National Farm, ag equipment comes to shine. This show is all about who is flashier and snazzier. Our spectacular shipping container booth speaks volumes about LS Tractor as a brand. While we can certainly make a stylish impression, at our core, we are hardworking and capable of creating something meaningful from scratch. This show was a lot of fun, lots of families came out to browse the latest and greatest in ag equipment and the kids really enjoyed our Limited-Edition Mossy Oak tractor.

This week marked a successful kick off to the show season for us. 2024 is a big year for LS Tractor, with plenty in store throughout the year. Naturally, we made it a priority to attend both largest agricultural shows in the US. First up, we’ve got the snow front blade, which is essentially a powerful plow that can scoop up large amounts of snow with a curved, angled blade. The snow blade is good for removing snow from larger areas such as parking lots and lawns. Blades are easy to use and with minimal care, they can last for years.

The LS Tractor snow blade fits both the loader-mount and sub frame-mount and is compatible with our MT1 and MT2s models. LS Tractor snow blades also have an adjustable shock absorber to protect the blade from damage, a variable skid for easy height adjustments, and the option of a rubber blade that can protect the ground and clean up even more.

Snow Blower

Our second snow attachment is the snow blower, which is great for swiftly moving snow out of the way. This attachment pulls snow into the machine and throws it a great distance out of the hydraulic chute, clearing a nice path. Snow blowers can be used to clear sidewalks and driveways. With a snow blower, it’s easier to see in front of you and the smaller size makes it more maneuverable than a blade, however, annual maintenance and inspection is recommended due to the mechanical function.

We wanted to share an open letter from customer Ken from K&K Farms, a satisfied LS customer who wanted to share his story with us!

“I used to own one of those green tractors. It did me well, but I needed a little more power and a lot more lift ability. I was driving by Nagy Tractors in Omer, MI and stopped in on a whim. I was immediately impressed with how nice everyone was there, so I talked with the salesman about my tractor needs. He told me the LS story and showed me a few. I fell in love with the XR3135HC. I was kind of scared since it was so much cheaper with so many more accessories, and I didn’t know the brand.

After using it to tear down fences, pull posts, haul logs, clean out the animal pens, and move rocks my wife didn’t like, I’m sold on LS forever.
