Start Blue, Stay Blue: From LS Tractor Technician to LS MT125 Owner

For some tractor owners, choosing the right machine comes down to comparing horsepower, attachments, and price. For Jeffrey Wolfe, the decision to buy an LS MT125 compact tractor came from firsthand experience working on LS Tractors as a service technician.

At Myers Motorsports in Kane, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey prepares new LS Tractors for customers, performs maintenance, and sees how the machines are built. When it came time to choose a tractor for the four-acre camp he shares with his wife, he decided to put that experience to work for himself.

From the Service Bay to His Own Property

Jeffrey joined Myers Motorsports in October 2025. His responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing customer equipment, preparing new and used units for sale, performing Pennsylvania state safety inspections, and getting new LS Tractors ready for their owners.

When a new LS Tractor arrives at the dealership, Jeffrey brings it into the shop for a thorough pre-delivery inspection. He checks fluid levels and tire pressures, inspects for defects, verifies hydraulic operation, checks for leaks, greases the tractor and its attachments, and tests its functions. He also checks wheel nut torque and makes any necessary corrections before the tractor is ready for sale.

After a customer purchases an LS tractor, Jeffrey gives it another inspection, washes it, and completes the final preparations before delivery.

That hands-on experience has given him a close look at the details that matter when maintaining a tractor over the long term. He pays attention to service accessibility, fluid filtration, paint quality, and the availability of grease fittings on moving parts.

Those details helped shape his own buying decision. “I had owned tractors in the past, and working on the LS tractors every day, I learned to appreciate the quality in each one,” Jeffrey explained.

When an LS Tractor financing offer of zero percent interest for up to 120 months became available, the timing was right. Jeffrey decided to make the move and purchase an LS MT125 of his own.

Why the LS MT125 Was the Right Fit

Jeffrey and his wife own a camp on approximately four acres, where maintaining the property and making improvements are ongoing projects. He wanted a tractor capable of handling a variety of jobs without taking up more space than necessary.

The compact size of the LS MT125 made it an appealing choice, even with the front loader and backhoe attachment. The combination gives him the flexibility to handle different tasks around the property with one machine.

“I like the quality, the ease of servicing, and they are quite comfortable to use,” Jeffrey said of LS tractors.

His plans for the MT125 included mowing, cleaning ditch lines, moving fallen trees, and removing snow. He also chose a thumb attachment for the backhoe bucket, giving him another useful option for handling logs and other materials.

For Jeffrey, the tractor’s versatility has made a noticeable difference in what he can accomplish around his camp. Jeffrey says, “I love it! I have used it on all my projects I wanted to complete and have found new projects to do now that I have an LS tractor.”

A Technician’s Perspective on Tractor Quality

When shopping for a tractor, buyers often focus on horsepower, loader capacity, and the jobs a machine can perform. Jeffrey encourages prospective owners to consider another important factor: how easy the tractor will be to maintain throughout its working life.

As a service technician, he knows that routine maintenance is essential to keeping equipment operating as it should. He particularly appreciates the grease fittings found throughout LS tractors and their implements.

“Always look for multiple grease fittings” Jeffrey said. “In an age when manufacturers are going to greaseless fittings and bearings, I’m old school and recognize the importance of being able to apply grease to moving parts.”

He also appreciates the placement of filters and drainplugs, which makes routine service tasks such as oil and filter changes easier to perform.

These features might not be the first things a buyer notices while walking around a dealership lot, but they matter to someone who works on tractors regularly. Accessible service points and straightforward maintenance procedures can make routine upkeep more convenient for owners who prefer to do some of their own maintenance.

Jeffrey’s advice to prospective tractor buyers is to look beyond appearance and consider overall quality, ease of service, and the support available after the purchase. For him, a tractor is a long-term investment. He wants equipment that can handle years of work, provided it receives the maintenance and care it needs.

Confidence in the Product – and the Support Behind It

Jeffrey’s confidence in LS Tractor comes from more than inspecting new machines. He has also worked with LS tractors that come into the dealership for service and has seen how the company responds when an issue arises.

During his time at Myers Motorsports, he has encountered only a couple of minor warranty claims involving LS Tractors. He says LS stood behind its product and took care of the customers. That experience reinforced his appreciation for the brand and highlighted the importance of customer service and warranty support when choosing equipment.

For someone who helps customers prepare for years of ownership, those considerations carry weight. A well-built tractor is important, but knowing that support is available when needed is another part of the ownership experience.

Jeffrey’s dual role gives him the opportunity to see both sides: the importance of proper preparation and maintenance at the dealership and the value of dependable equipment once it reaches a customer’s property.

“LS tractors are good, sturdy built units made to last many years,” Jeffrey says. “When investing in a tractor, you’re investing in it for a very long time.”

First Project: Horseshoe Pits at the Camp

One of Jeffrey’s first projects with this MT125 was something he had wanted to do for years: install horseshoe pits at the camp. It was a fitting way to put his new tractor to work. Beyond helping with routine property maintenance, the MT125 gave him another way to turn long-planned ideas into finished projects.

Since then, the list of possibilities has continued to grow. Mowing, clearing ditches, moving fallen trees, and preparing for winter weather have all been part of his plans, but he has also discovered projects he might never have considered before owning a tractor.

That flexibility is one of the advantages of having a compact tractor available when a need arises. A project that once required considerable manual labor or outside help may become more manageable with the right machine and attachments.

For Jeffrey, the MT125 is helping him make better use of his property while giving him more opportunities to improve the place he and his wife enjoy.

Proud to Work on LS Tractors – and Own One

Jeffrey takes pride in both parts of his relationship with LS Tractor. At Myers Motorsports, he helps prepare equipment for customers and keeps their machines in working order. At home, he gets to experience the benefits of owning an LS tractor firsthand.

That personal connection means he can speak to customers not only from a technician’s perspective, but also from the perspective of someone who chose to invest in the brand himself.

“I’m very proud to own one, and I’m proud of the fact I can brag to our customers that I not only work on them, I have enough faith that I bought one myself – and it’s a good-looking blue tractor!”

When asked to describe his LS tractor in three words, Jeffery chose:

“Reliable.”

“Longevity.”

“Quality.”

Those words reflect what matters most to him: a sturdy, well-built machine that is straightforward to maintain and ready to help with the work ahead.

His experience also illustrates an important part of the LS Tractor ownership story. A tractor is not simply a purchase for one project or one season. It is an investment in the property, plans, and possibilities that unfold over time.

For Jeffrey Wolfe, the decision to buy an LS MT125 came after seeing the brand from the service bay. Now, as he puts his tractor to work at his own camp, he has another reason to be proud of the blue machine in his garage.

And when customers at Myers Motorsports ask him about LS tractors, he can tell them something beyond what he has learned on the job: he chose one for himself, too.
